SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 and 10
While you can download a copy of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 from our Novell Downloads web site, we recommend evaluating SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (SLES 10).
The same basic skills you learn in the Geting Started with Linux: Novell's Guide to CompTIA's Linux+ course can be used to administer SLES 10, and you are introduced to the latest Linux server technology available.
Are there courses available that focus on the fundamental skills of administering SLES 10? If you would like to investigate other courses that teach you the basics of using SLES 10, check out Course 3068, Course 3070, and Course 3076 available on the Novell OpenCourseWare site.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 - Evaluation Software
You can download a free evaluation of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 by going to our SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Evaluation Download web site, and doing the following:
- Select the download appropriate for your platform. If you do not know which platform is appropriate, select the link that includes x86 computer platforms.
- From the Product Registration and Access web page, write down the
Activation Code; then select the Download Media
link.
An extensive list of downloadable media appears. - From top of the list, select -> proceed to download.
- Log in using your Novell Login Account. From the
Novell Login page, enter the username and password
for your Novell Login Account and select Login.
If you do not have a Novell Login Account, see Step 2 of Downloading the Course Files. - If you are presented with a questionnaire, respond to the questions, then select -> submit.
- From the Novell Downloads - U.S. Export Laws and Regulations web
page, select -> accept.
A Novell Downloads - Heads Up: DVD Download May Fail page appears with information about downloading large DVD ISO files. Because the SLES 10 installation DVD file is 4.2 GB, make sure you read through the information before deciding whether to download the DVD ISO file or the CD ISO files; then continue by selecting ->accept. - From the list of downloadable files (at the top of the page), select the -> download button for the file (or files) you want to download.
Because of the size of the SLES 10 installation DVD, unless you have a fast Internet Connection and the appropriate web browser, we recommend downloading and burning the SLES 10 installation CDs.
The software is a free 60-day (180-day for zSeries) evaluation of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, is licensed for limited evaluation purposes, and does not include access to software updates beyond the evaluation period or any technical support.
